Last year I grew 15 Chocolate Bhutlahs and 10 Savina Habaneros, ended up with 110 pounds until the 1st week of December. The Bhutlahs are way hotter than the Reaper and the Savina is 3X hotter and more flavorful than the orange ones. Now I have dried and IQF frozen chiles for the next year or so!

I bought some seeds 6 months before this review and I grew them. After an early pruning indoors, the plants were taken outside and the plants shot up. My 6 month old plants look like 1 year old plants. (Probably because I drown them in miracle grow). They stand up to 100 degrees quite well. Low maintenance, good looking, forgiving, and lots more. I bought some seeds 6 months before this review and I grew them. After an early pruning indoors, the plants were taken outside and the plants shot up. My 6 month old plants look like 1 year old plants. (Probably because I drown them in miracle grow). They stand up to 100 degrees quite well. Low maintenance, good looking, forgiving, and lots more. You get the exact peppers in the picture. The only thing I don't like about them is the long germination time (almost 2 weeks). I recommend them. Period.

Sowed 4 seeds and 2 grew. I have one plant outdoors that is now recovering after a massive aphid attach and hardening off mishap, and I have the other plant which has remained indoors its whole life since I sowed the seeds Dec 2, 2015. I now have the Bhutlah plant in a 7 gallon smart pot under a 8 bulb T5 set-up and the plant is about 5 feet tall in my apartment living room! already harvest 40+ delicious and ridiculously hot (definitely hotter than the Reaper) and while the side with the peppers on it were ripening up, the other side of the plant grew 2 feet+ and now has 15+ more peppers growing on it while the other side is recovering and growing to catch up after harvesting the 40+ peppers on it! Highly recommend these seeds, I got friends all over the country asking me to send them Bhutlah peppers after seeing my Bhutlah plant in my apartment pic on FB.

I purchased several types of hot pepper seeds here in February and began germinating them immediately. The Chocolate Bhutlah germinated at 100% but the others didn't fare so well. I purchased several types of hot pepper seeds here in February and began germinating them immediately. The Chocolate Bhutlah germinated at 100% but the others didn't fare so well. I planted 4 seeds of each type to start, and only an average of 1-2 out of the 4 sprouted. The sprouted seeds did not do very well, and out of 28 seeds I planted, I have 6 plants that may wind up healthy enough to plant in the ground when the weather warms up.



Customer service from PepperHead is very good, and emails are responded to promptly, and personally. Tracking numbers were emailed, and seeds were delivered in a week. Some other sites send directions for planting/germinating but PepperHead does not. I did a lot of research before I bought seeds, and had heating pads, a large H.O fluorescent light fixture, and brand new, unopened plastic domes with Jiffy Pellets to start with. I also used distilled water that had been boiled and cooled down to sterilize it. I washed my hands, wore gloves, and transferred the seeds into Jiffy Pellets with tweezers that had been boiled too. I used a handheld laser-probe to measure temperature, and kept it in the 80*-85* F degree range. I attempted to create the most ideal conditions or my seeds, but still had little success.



After recently moving, I was very excited to get these seeds and start them, in hopes of bringing some to my dad. He shares the love of hot peppers with me, and this is a hobby that we can both share, despite the distance between us. I start seeds for him, and bring him plants when I come to visit, and he calls me, very excited when he starts getting peppers on his plants! I was slightly disappointed that only one Carolina Reaper sprouted, and that it wasn't very healthy, and didn't make it. Maybe something happened to the seeds in the mail ? Hot peppers mean a lot to my dad because he has very few hobbies, with my mother being in poor health. Luckily, PepperHead offers live plants, and I think that I may have to wind up ordering some to ensure that I/we have a good selection of peppers this year to share and trade with friends and co-workers. I cannot allow my dad's reputation at work as the pepper-guy to become tarnished !



I gave a rating of 3 stars for the large selection, 2 free seed packs, and prompt email. I was not able to give 5 stars at this time, because of my poor results, and lack of directions. My former chef ordered from here in the past and directed me here. I will try the rest of my seeds at a later date and see if I have better success. If so, I will order more seeds in the future.

Seeds arrived in a neatly little sealed bag. They all germinated in 6 days on a paper towel at 27 degrees Celsius. 8 out of 10 are now plants.

I planted 3 three seeds of the Chocolate Bhutlah, and 4 seeds of the Carolina Reapers about a month ago in my Miracle Grow Aerogarden. All seven seeds sprouted and are now about 3 inches tall. I can't wait until they are fully matured.
